Using a pre-programmed flight of the track, we set the drone to capture photos every few meters, enabling us to thoroughly blanket the site with geo-referenced images. These images are then stitched together to create a high resolution and extremely accurate survey of the site.Read more on how drones and gaming come together. UAVisuals also assisted with identifying the colour and texture of the track and its surroundings so that MotoGP’s artists can replicate the setting with as much attention to detail as possible. The true colour and textures of aspects such as the grass, curb, vegetation, tarmac and skid marks, were all identified using a colour checker and a visual reference such as a ruler. The shots were taken at various altitudes starting around 1 meter to capture the finer details, followed by higher shots at 20 meters to grasp the transitions and interactions of the textures. 155 Roofs inspected by Drone
Hundreds of residential roofs inspected by a drone- All in a day’s work! PROJECT: Asset Economics are pioneer quantity surveyors specifically within the property and construction sector in both the consumer and corporate market. After being approached by a body cooperate company to provide roof inspections for 155 houses within a housing development, Asset Economics got in touch with UAVISUALS to see if we could help using drones. PROBLEM: Asset Economics required a large number of houses to be inspected in a short period of time. They were needing to determine if the builder had correctly installed a specific type of box gutters as per the original housing plan. Roof inspections are quite a common service, however, with such a large quantity requiring inspection, this can be expensive, dangerous, and time-consuming to complete. Each roof would have needed to be individually inspected by a person which would require weeks for logistical planning and execution. VISUAL SOLUTIONS: UAVISUALS industrial team were contacted by Asset Economics with the potential of delivering drone solutions to complete the roof inspections We were able to offer quick and easy solutions to provide high-resolution drone photography & a survey of the 155 roofs. Our 2-man crew was able to mobilize & get airborne in just 20 mins and safely complete the inspections in a matter of hours. We used multiple drone surveying techniques and the latest technology to pick up plenty of detail that can’t otherwise be seen from the ground. For more info contact: info@uavisuals.com
Queen Victoria Market Roof Inspection
Queen Victoria Market Drone Roof Inspection PROJECT: Queen Victoria Market is an inner-city Melbourne market with over 600 small businesses selling fresh produce, local and imported gourmet foods, clothing and souvenirs. Spread over two city blocks, the market and its building are iconic in Australia’s history dating back to 1878 and is listed on both the Victorian and the National Heritage Register. Being a heritage-listed site, the structure requires regular inspections for maintenance and upgrade purposes. Traditionally, this would involve machinery such as a cherry picker or sending personnel on the roof for a visual inspection. This method can be time-consuming, costly and most importantly risky to personnel. RBB, construction cost consultants, offer independent and objective advice for building projects on budgeting, monitoring and controlling costs and time involved in projects. RBB engaged with UAVisuals to find a cost-effective, time-efficient solution for inspections of the Queen Vic Market roof. VISUAL SOLUTIONS: Operating on a day that the market was closed to the public, our two-manned crew was able to mobilise and get airborne in just minutes. We scanned 41,908 square meters of roof, providing a series of over 1200+ high-quality images of the area. Risks were extremely low, no one needed to be on a roof and saved plenty of costs on the hire of machinery. We were able to offer quick and easy visual solutions using drones to provide both high-resolution photography and videography of the roof with minimal disturbances to the general public or surrounding businesses.
